Adidas soccer cleats When shopping for Adidas soccer cleats, there are a few things that you need to decide. Of course, having already decided that you want Adidas soccer cleats, you have already made one of the most difficult decisions: which manufacturer. Do not worry, Adidas is, perhaps, the most respected manufacturer of soccer cleats, and they have been in the business for a long time.

Leather or Synthetic?

One decision that you need to make is whether or not you want your Adidas soccer cleats to be made of true leather or of synthetic material. Most people say that true leather is better (especially soft kangaroo leather). True leather is often the most comfortable and form-fitting material for a pair of Adidas soccer cleats – and when you are wearing true leather cleats, you get a much better feel of the ball. Leather will mold to your feet better than synthetic material.

Another benefit of leather is that it will generally last longer. Your feet will be happier in true leather – they let your feet “breathe” much better than synthetic materials. Realize, though, that to get all of these benefits of leather, you are going to have to pay more for your Adidas soccer cleats.

Also, realize that there are many different types of leather that soccer shoes are made out of. Full grain leather is the least expensive, and sometimes it can cost only a fraction more than shoes made out of synthetic materials.

Of course, there are some very high quality synthetic uppers Adidas soccer cleats – many of these are actually going to be better than a shoe made with full grain leather. In fact, the all-popular Adidas Predator Absolute now comes in a microfiber version – these high quality microfiber materials are very soft and strong and have a similar feel to true leather.

As abovementioned, the best kind of leather for your soccer shoes is kangaroo leather (often referred to as K-leather). It is more expensive, but it is also softer, more supple, and durable.

What Type of Studs?

Another decision that you must make on your road to finding the perfect Adidas soccer cleats for you and your game is which type of studs to get. There are molded studs and replaceable studs to choose from.

Traditional molded studs have around 10-15 round studs – these are good for both firm and soft grounds, but they are not the best if you are playing on very hard ground or very soft ground. All in all, these are best if you are play on all different kinds of surfaces.

The bladed shape (X-grip) is slimmer than round studs, and they are placed at different angles for better footing. When you buy X-grip molded cleats, you must buy a pair made for a specific field condition – different X-grip cleats come with different lengths and angles of studs. You must decide if you needs ones made for hard ground (HG), firm ground (FG), or soft ground (SG).

Replaceable (screw-in) studs are great for more serious players. The cleats can be screwed on and off and replaced easily. You can change the length and type of studs based on the weather and the field conditions.

Size

Another thing that you must consider when buying your Adidas soccer cleats is the size – you want to be sure that your cleats fit properly. Bring your shinguards and soccer socks with you when you go to try on your soccer cleats. Make sure that your Adidas soccer cleats are very snug and tight to the foot, but still comfortable.

When you have a pair of close-fitting shoes, you are going to have a better feel for the ball. There is a chance that you might want to go ½ size smaller (be sure to try them on before doing so). Realize that leather expands and will mold to your foot. Synthetic materials will not expand.

Price

Another thing that you probably cannot help but consider when shopping for Adidas soccer cleats is price. You will find that there is a huge range of prices. If you are playing soccer 3 times a week or more, it might well be worth it to invest in a more expensive pair of cleats. Also, if you have money to burn, get a few different pairs – get some for different weather and field conditions. Otherwise, you my find that a less expensive pair of Adidas soccer cleats suits you just fine. Be sure to check out sales and deals on the internet.
