This sport is relatively simple, which is a major attraction, making
soccer one of the most widely played and watched team sport in the
world. Soccer rules are officially determined by FIFA, but various
leagues and national teams adjust rules according to age of players
and climate conditions.
Basically, the soccer rules are as follows:
1. The game is played with a ball and two teams of 11 players.
2. Each team tries to win by scoring more goals on their opponent.
3. A goal is achieved when the ball passes over the goal line between
the two goalposts and under the crossbar.
4. Soccer is played predominantly with the feet, but players are
allowed to use any other part of their body, except the hands and
arms, to propel the ball.
5. The goalkeeper is the only member of the team that can handle
the ball in the field of play.
6. The field of play must be rectangular, meaning that the length
of the touchline must be greater than the goal line length.
