Because soccer is a game that is played mainly with your feet, having
the proper shoes is very important. There are multiple types of
soccer shoes to choose from. There are molded cleats, detachable
cleats, indoor shoes and turf shoes. A player must choose which
type of soccer shoes to buy and wear based on his or her skill level,
the weather conditions, and the type of field.
Turf shoes and indoor shoes can be very similar, with only a few
small differences. Turf shoes are made specifically for artificial
turf and harder outdoor surfaces. Turf shoes do not have studs on
the sole like regular cleats. Rather, they have various raised patterns
on the bottom. This way, they still help a player remain steady
and grip the ground, but without tearing up the artificial turf.
Indoor shoes are quite obviously made for indoor games. Like turf
shoes, they are made for hard surfaces and artificial turf. They
are designed for playing indoor soccer in a gym or recreational
facility. Indoor soccer shoes have a flat, rubber-type bottom to
allow for better traction on indoor courts and fields (the soles
more closely resemble basketball shoes than outdoor soccer cleats).
Turf shoes are good general soccer shoes. They are great to use
as training shoes. Turf shoes may be made either from leather are
synthetic material. Turf shoes made from synthetic material are
generally less expensive, but may not feel quite as good as a leather
turf shoe. Turf shoes made from synthetic materials are generally
easier to clean and dry out and often last better under poor playing
conditions than leather turf shoes.
There are many factors that you may consider while deciding what
sort of turf shoe is best for you. You should consider your soccer
skill level and size foot. Price is always a factor. But one of
the most important things to consider is how the shoe fits. It is
hard to play a good game of soccer when your feet or uncomfortable.
