 Several
media sources are reporting off a falling out between Sir Alex Ferguson
and Red Devils captain Roy Keane.
Furthermore it is understood that Keane has been left behind from
the team’s pre-season tour of Asia. Claims that Keane has
missed the trip because of a hamstring injury are being met with
raised eyebrows now that rumours are circulating that he was omitted
for disciplinary reasons.
The alleged row is said to have originated at the teams training
camp in Portugal, three weeks ago, which suggests the matter has
been kept tightly under wraps.
United officials are keeping tight lipped on the affair but the
reds management must be well aware that with the new season edging
ever closer and other off field matters still bubbling away they
will need to get the team fully focused on the task of going toe
to toe with Chelsea in the race for the Premiership.
In a statement on the subject, Keane’s lawyer Michael Kennedy
said, “The allegation that Roy Keane was left out of the club
tour of Asia because of a row with his manager is completely without
foundation”.
Kennedy did hint however, that there could have been a disagreement
between Keane and Ferguson but made it clear he would not be commenting
further on the matter.
